I remember the wrestling matches in my AO as a kid in the 60s. They got pretty bloodied-up at times. We loved it.

I guess the most "famous" one that passed through was Walter "Killer" Kowalski at the county fairgrounds but that had more of a professional air about it than the ones that they held at the HS. I also saw Gorilla Monsoon there one year.

Oh yeah but other than on B&W TV I never saw him......Funny how wrestling was a mainstay on TV in the early days of maybe three channels if you were lucky.

This is what we got out of DC on WTTG Channel 5.....LOL....but I don't remember it being nearly as clear.
