Graduation

I have come to understand that the majority of the members here are ancient, but it is important to recognize and support the generations stepping up to lead the coming years of our nation and our world.

We are deep in the "graduation season," and it is encouraging to see the generation that will take the reins of the future - whether we like it or not.

Watching graduation recently, I was moved to see so many of the inspiring young people we have, do, and will depend upon giving voice to what America has always been and always will be. I am comforted by the first hand knowledge of what these young people can and will do to continue to make us a more "perfect union."

Graduating in my cap and gown among my classmates and the kids I have known since elementary school was a big moment for me. I hope this graduating class is involved in direction of our nation and the world and understand the importance of bottom-up government as opposed to top down. A concern not just for themselves but also for those less fortunate.

The current generation of high school/college grads is very encouraging. As a whole, they seem to love freedom, America, and tradition.

It's a good thing.

To tell you how trusted I was as a high school senior, I carried all of the diplomas in the trunk of my car to the site where graduation was held. My grandson graduated last Saturday.
