Governor Youngkin Cancels Governor Northam’s Plastic Reduction Plan via Executive Order...puts plastic polluters profits at the expense of environment

We bought reusable zip lock style bags at Aldis for about 10 bucks. That was more than a year ago and we have not had to buy the ones not made for multiple uses since then.

We no longer use shampoo or conditioner in plastic bottle and instead get bars. They last longer as it is easer to control how much you use each time.

Do you not believe that we should take care of real issues instead of imaginary ones?

I wouldn't say that this makes you look desperate and foolish, but. Yeah, actually I would.

Northam was a moderate. he didn't seem like a lunatic socialist. too bad about the blackface stuff
A moderate where a parents daughter can be raped in public schools and then be called a terrorist and get his ass beat up by cops for complaining about it to the school board. The same cops that to many Repub suckers back up.

Silicone Drinking Straws. 5 bucks for 6 of them. They have lasted over a year now.

Normal drinking straws were 2 bucks for 100.

Both my wife and son like to use straws when they drink out of glasses.

We were going through about 10 a week 5 to 6 packs a year. That was costing us 10 to 12 bucks.

Are you conflating your experience with a government mandate?

it is not going to help it. Seems we should all agree that less trash in our landfills is a good thing.

But I guess not
true, but there is a lot more trash then plastic bags. Maybe get people not to need plastic bags so much, ie buy less stuff

This executive order repeals Governor Northam’s Executive Order - which removed the restriction on single-use plastic at state agencies, colleges, and universities.

So? They can all still do that on their own.

There are many things outside of straws.

No kidding? Have you seen this idiocy?

Holy fuck!

Imagine the thousands of man-hours and millions of dollars wasted just to fill out the paperwork.

How are they going to replace the single use milk jugs and yogurt containers?

I guess they could use glass? LOL!

Look, what is the point of all this. Nothing I say will change your mind, so why play the game?

I like pointing out green idiocy when I see it.

You call it green idiocy, I say ever little bit helps.

Why people think less trash in the land fills is a bad thing I will never understand.

Yeah, a very little bit for millions in wasteful spending.

How much should we spend to recycle your used kleenex and toilet paper?
