Governor Gavin Newsom has declared victory today in diverting water into the Pacific Ocean to help save the habitat of the illusive Californian fish called "smelt" seen above instead of the suggested use of the water in Southern California where fires rage and fire hydrants are now empty. "We did it!", declared Newsom, "We saved another endangered species!" But when asked where the mayor of the burning region was, Gavin declared, "You mean Mayor Bass? She is Gahna!! Ha, ha, ha, ha! "No really, she left for Gahna Africa and not coming home early, even for this, no joke. Next question.

"When will you divert water to the Southern region to help fight future wildfires?" asked a reporter. Governor Newsom replied, I guess if wildfires kill enough Californians to where they also appear on the endangered list like the smelt fish, we may consider diverting water back to the South to save them. But if I have to pick and choose between saving the smelt and the people of California, I may have to do some serious thinking about which I should save first. I dunno. But I digress."

One of the things that does happen when a coastal city wants to build a desalination plant to desalinate ocean water is

"environmentalists" SUE to STOP IT over things like

"oh no, squirting salty brine back into the ocean might kill a clam or a smelt..."

never mind the fires....

which "environmentalists" CHEER as "evidence of warming" which is actually completely wrong too. When Earth does warm, it gets WETTER and hence has FEWER FIRES not more...

During the Jurassic Period, the Earth's climate was much warmer and wetter than it is today.

Bulletin: Californians "smelt" smoke today. Governor is investigating.
