now that I look at that longer they can't blast off from that, the tires would all melt therefore they must have one hell of a crane to move it to the launch pad

I would guess the crane is built into the launch pad...so the crawler would drive it right to the pad...the pad grips and lifts the booster a few inches & the crawler drives out from under it.
