He gets one point deducted for misusing "literally".
GOP Strategist Expects October To Be Full Of Presidential Campaign Surprises
A key GOP strategist in Florida has decided unregistered sex offender Donald Trump is just too damaging to support.
If your man in Florida is against you, you're fucked.
Some memorable statements:
"I cannot believe the Clinton opposition research bag is empty. I would expect another shoe to drop later this week, or certainly next week."
"At some point, even those who are most reluctant to abandon a sinking ship may have to get in the water."
On Trump's Chumps: "They've absolutely lost touch with reality. They're literally face-down in the Kool Aid."
He said something which chimes exactly with the way I've been feeling:
NPR: What then does this mean for the party after this election? If Donald Trump doesn't win, it's not as if they're going away.
STIPANOVICH: I think what you'll see over the next couple of cycles, 2018 and 2020, this thing is going to shake out one way or the other. Either real conservative Republicans, men and women of conscience, and enough sense to come in out of the rain, will regain control of the party, or they will leave the party. In many ways, I think the election process itself will take care of this. One of the things we're going to learn here is is that you can't be crazy and win a large constituency general election.
NPR: But you're still talking here, when you're talking Trump supporters, a sizable number of voters. Can the Republican Party afford to lose them?
STIPANOVICH: If we have to lose them, then lose them we must! What Trump stands for is wrong! It's bad for America, it's bad for the party, and if we have to wander in the wilderness for a decade until we can get a party which stands for the right things and can make a contribution to the future of America, then we need to wander.
