GOP Tea Party likes to contend that all politics is local. In fact, in Lousiana, the subject comes up that the incumbent U. S Senator actually works in Washington, D. C.(?). Defying expecations(?),That appears to resonate among Louisiana GOP, unless it didn't(?). Louisiana Govenor Jindal, like the fellow in Kansas, does oppose national standards in education, like anyone would guess(?)!

Apparently the challenger to Senator Begich, lives in Maryland, and also works in Washington, D. C.(?)!In the link, GOP Alaska, seems overjoyed(?)! Incidentally, the link actually states: The Democratic Party funded polls in Alaska, actually show a Begich surge. Mostly, Alaska is famously becoming Independent, including in the matter of who will be Governor. That will not be Sarah Palin. Many would call that a drift away from that base.

GOP surges in Alaska Senate race TheHill

Alaska Democrats seem to mirror the California campaign variety. The California "surge" level basis was the creation of the California Democratic Councils, post WWII. Those are the ground game basis, all volunteers. Progressive California has the state university system, the freeways, and the water system as an outcome. The father of Jerry Brown was also governor. The Democratic Senate Majority Leader, during the Reagan Administration, was Senator Alan Cranston. Famously, Senator Harry Reid tends to know a great deal about Democratic campaigning--with less reliant basis in the public polling. California Republlican women have been known to every so often, phone their friends. California Male Republican leaders have most recently been known to advise their people to vote for Democratic Governor, Jerry Brown. That could easily portend a California House delegation, 100% Democrat, in the new House of Representatives.

So even in Alaska, noted at the bottom of the link:

But even Republicans do not underestimate Democrats in the home stretch.
“I expect this to go down to the wire. Unfortunately that favors Begich because he has a better ground game,” said Hellenthal, the GOP pollster. “The Democrats have already knocked on our door four times, and I’m told that’s true throughout Anchorage. Sullivan’s campaign has not hit our door yet.”
