Even though polls have shown that Americans don't like congressional Democrats any more, a new internal GOP tally of House races suggests a Democratic route that could keep the Republicans in the minority for decades. A document provided to Washington Whispers from a House GOP official shows that they could lose a net 34 seats. That means the Democrats would have a 270-165 advantage in the 111th Congress. In the Senate, Republicans expect to lose also but to keep up to 44 seats, ensuring their ability to stage a filibuster.

The cook political report, which is the gold standard for predicting house and senate races, predicts a minimum of 20-25 seat pickups in the House for the Dems, and 7-9 senate seats.
We shall see. Voter suppression is always a problem.

True, dems are predicted to pick up seats, but a leaked repub memo saying repubs will be down dor *decades* is a clear attempt to knock dem turnout down, even if only by a half percentage.
They are not out for decades, this is ridiculous. Dems will pick up seats, and repubs are trying to keep it to a minimum.
If the next four years look anything like the carter years the repubs will be in in spades in 2012 maybe even 2010.
We might not know all the places it was leaked, be interesting to see if it takes a life of its own.
