Monthly report for March was released this morning.

Inflation slowed to 2.4% in the 12 months through March, as measured by the consumer-price index. That undershot the 2.6% forecast by economists polled by The Wall Street Journal.

Biennial rent increases based on 2 year CPI 4/1/23 to 3/1/25. Increase is 7.3%. So about 3.65% per year. Not great but it isn't as terrible as it was.....Downward progress.

Yes, good news. The bad news is it's a backwards looking number that doesn't take the future, inflationary impact of tariffs in to account.

The 3 economic reports I'm paying attention to these days are:

• the employment report, typically published on the first Friday of the month
• the consumer confidence index, on the last Tuesday of the month
• the consumer price index, around this time of month (10th-15th)

In my signature below I've added an economic calendar containing the schedule and links to these reports and others. I don't have trust on Trump's economic policy, but I try my best to avoid cherry picking articles to support my beliefs and will let the numbers speak for themselves, no matter what.

I'm certainly glad the foreign trade tension eased a bit yesterday, enabling me to concentrate my disdain on Trump's policy of increasing the federal debt ceiling.

LOL. Now that's funny. Biden and the dems were voted out of office partly due to high inflation and now that inflation is going down, you say that MAGA thinks that is a good thing. Don't YOU think it is a good thing, or, would you rather go back to the higher prices which helped Trump get elected in the first place?

Now about tariffs, I believe it makes sense to take supply chains into concern after their disruption during COVID and how the price of goods increased when demand returned. As existing inventories deplete and delays in implementation of tariffs expire, we'll see how that supply chain holds up and the way prices go.

Even tough overall inflation has come down, apparently I was wrong about the egg thing. Egg prices are still high according to an article I just read.

Democrats locked the country down for Covid when they didn't have to and when they got out of Afghanistan so badly it encouraged Putin to invade Ukraine, both of these things done by democrats increased inflation and supply chain issues. So, I don't give democrats any excuses for claiming supply chain issues for increasing inflation. They increased inflation.

Tariffs have not increased inflation and most have already been lifted. They were never going to be in place long enough to make much difference on the inflation front. They were short term bullying tactics designed to make trade more fair to the US.

Trump policy is to slow Waste, Fraud and Abuse (100s' Billions found to eliminate). Eliminate useless GOVT (return to states). Improve Global trade. All common sense. We know it works and long term should be good. BoardStain pout and spin, lie.
