A few days ago, some legacy news outlets carried a misleading story designed to demonize ICE and the enforcement of our immigration laws. The story, citing Rep. Chuy Garcia (D-IL), claimed that the cruel despots at ICE had arrested an innocent migrant "dad" outside a Chicago charter school. “In my district," said Garcia, "ICE ambushed a parent while dropping off their child at school. No family should have to fear being torn apart in a safe place meant for learning."

Uh-huh. Well, it turned out that this innocent "dad" was Francisco Andrade-Berrera, a twice-deported member of a violent street gang who had been convicted of several serious crimes, including drug dealing and vandalism. But the legacy news outlets that carried the misleading sob story peddled by Rep. Garcia never corrected the story or provided the additional info about the "dad."

You seem to have missed the fact that true journalism is pretty well dead and buried. It is now about what the writer of the piece wants you to feel. Facts are not the important thing. In fact it takes up time and a lot of column inches or air time to present. Besides a lot of people make up their minds within the few moments of reading the header or hearing the opening sentences.

Yeap, that pretty much describes journalism and how many people get their news.

If drug dealing and vandalism are the bullet points of his "several serious crimes", then you are a Church lady.
