Then they have to buy back so much shares of stock from them. That is all they owe them now. They have already bought back so much and are going to continue to do so. This profit sharing goes to the hard working employees who haven't had a profit sharing check in years. Also a lot of stock lost was by these workers who did not get any money for their lost. These workers haven't had a raise in at least 8 years to help GM who was doing badly. They also kept their insurance as the media has said but failed to report that their insurance is not so good anymore. Employees have 5 office visits per year per family which they pay 25 copay. After that the employee pays all office visits completely including specialists. The ones who haven't taken a hit is the higher ups. Who still precede to get million dollar bonuses. Please do not hit on the hard working blue collar worker who is just trying to make a living like every other individual out there. They have taken cut after cut and freezing wages. This profit share just replaces a little of the stock that they lost. Thank you.

They are now getting a profit-sharing check b/c GM is turning a profit.

What? The UAW owns 30 % of GM, their stock price in down since the original IPO, the federal government wanted the volt, that’s it, only a couple of hundred have been sold, nobody wants them. Toyota has the Prious for a lot less money. Those cars are going to be a bust. The Obama government gives GM money and incentives to build the kind of cars they want them to build ,they can't compete like that, and as far paying back all the money? GM's stock would have to sell at almost $55.00 per share, it aint going to happen. Profit sharing? Give me a break. All the bond holders got stiffed people's retirement gone because of the all caring Obama administration. All that money we gave to the UAW in the stimulus is forgotten about. I live here in Michigan, I know whats going on. Behind the scenes GM in still in trouble. I own all GM's always have, but the Government running them is a bunch of shit if you ask me you don't know what your talking about.
