So going to Glastonbury in an EV and needing charged initially cost £80, but it then was reduced to £50. And as the whole country is not geared up to EV's, diesel generators do the charging to save the day.

Good, owning a EV and thinking you are owed normal rate charges at tourist venues should hurt. I bet they gladly hand over $10.00+ for a beer at such festivals.
