I would not be feeling too good about this if I was a German citizen. Germany is overrun with muslims immigrants. The global economy is not good. They have an admittedly impotent military. I agree with you. Their conventional military has proven itself to be quite impotent in Ukraine. Their only leverage is (1) economic (energy exports); and (2) nuclear weapons. The loss on any energy exports can be mitigated. Without a viable conventional force talks of using nuclear weapons is nothing more than terroristic threats. Moreover, if Russia actually used nuclear weapons then there is a very good chance it would be Russia's suicide. Russia only become dangerous if it gloms on to China in order to back it up on Russia's quest to move westward. But I do not even see that that is possible, as China does not want war in Europe. Xi needs the west's markets to trade with.

And here we are in 2023 and Americans are STILL paying to defend them and the EU while many NATO countries refuse to pay the minimum 2% of GDP recommended. The EU economy is about the size of ours and we are still defending them.

There is no threat of Russia attacking Germany as long as Germany doesn't allow an attack on Russia from German territory.

Russia is doing everything possible to avoid a bigger war.

However, many believe that America is going to act soon to expand the war, now that it's certain Bakmuht will be in Russia's hands early next week.

If Biden was serious about any of this he would be opening more Federal land for energy exploration and issuing full and final drilling permits.

But he isn't, there is no money in it as there is in all the equipment (which we have no idea where much of it is going) and money being funneled to one of the most corrupt nations in the world, aka Ukraine. Which offers massive money laundering possibilities.

As for Ukraine, thanks to Biden and his "minor incursion" when he gave Putin a green light back in January 2022, Ukraine is a mess and wants us to spend $500 billion plus to rebuild them.
