Forget about the tax-cut this administration gave to everyone earning less than $250k/yr, there's the credit card bill of rights, expanded loan programs for small businesses. This administration extended and indexed the 2007 Alternative Minimum Tax patch, assured that the Veterans Administration budget is prepared as 'must-pass' legislation, created a national infrastructure protection plan, increased funding for national parks and forests...

I could go on and on. But then, if we're not talking about things you approve of, they don't count?

And this notion that the President of the United States could actually do what most people think he can do is ridiculious. The President is not a king. You want a bad guy? You want to go after the people responsible for the mess we're in? It's the Congress and Senate.

I'm pretty sure that the current millions on unemployment disagree with you - Obama extended and increased unemployment benefits, something that helps quite a bit when unemployment is so high.

Have to agree with George here. Palin is just not presidential material and she really should just remain in her role as an analyst and nothing more.

It's not as though I dislike Palin as a person as many folks do, it's just that I think she lacks the substance to be a strong conservative candidate.

Leave the vague generalities and euphemisms to the Democrat Party. We need a conservative that has an excellent command of the facts and the ability to destroy the liberals with impunity.

Personaly I think she should keep doing what she's doing. She's found a good niche for herself. She is popular with many out there and can use her popularity to back candidates.

Yes and George Will is nothing more than one of those Republican White guy country club stuffed shirts, that hardly anybody pays attention to anymore. He is for the complete withdrawal from Afghanistan now, turning off many in his party so he has to write something now that someone will actually read. Recent elections seem to be backing my statement.
So the big question is when the Democrats lose massively in the fall...will Obama change his stripes ala Clinton?
I don't think so. Obama is a true Socialist. Not a power freak like Clinton. He (Obama) actually believes in this crap.
So likely 2010-2012 will be ugly with little getting done on the domestic front. Leading to his 2012 demise.

The significance of Palin's popularity has nothing to do with her viability a a Presidential candidate. She is an en extremely popular symbol of Middle America's disgust with the elitist political class that has recently gained dominance in our government.

What qualifies anyone to be President? An Ivy law degree and a life free of any honest work?

If truly relevant experience and accomplishment criteria were applied we would certainly not have elected Obama. He has accomplished virtually nothing in his life except to win a couple of elections against weak opponents, and then only with a totally complicit press.

Palin is and will be a force in American politics, but probably not as a Presidential candidate. Whatever her abilities and qualifications the left-leaning press is totally committed to smearing and demeaning her which will probably prevent a Presidency, but it will help other conservative/populist/non-elitist candidates. The hard-core left---especially those so numerous in the press---still don't get it. The majority of Americans reject the Obama agenda and the arrogant, elitist, and unfair bashing of Palin, Bush, and others just serves to energize Middle America.

The three recent election victories of conservative are such a clear signal that people like Bayh understand. Anyone whose head is not buried understands, but apparently Obama refuses to accept it.
