How can both trends be condemned since they are two sides of the same coin.
"White Flight" is when crackers move out of the inner city ghettos, leaving a more segregrated community.
"Gentrification" is the cure when honkies move back into the hood, often fixing up the properties, building Starbucks and Whole Foods and replacing the check cashing stores, gospel missions and Family Dollars that black people like to frequent.
How can they both be "bad"? Should ghettos remain "chocolate cities" forever? Does that mean that white flight was a tremendous thing as it allowed the development of the Ghetto that gentrification is now threatening the existence of?
