Statistically it was far from his best, but he was 35 years old and suffering the first effects of ALS. This June 2nd is the inaugural Lou Gehrig Day. He hit .295.

He started playing on June 2nd for the Yankees in 1925, and died June 2nd in 1941.

170 RBIs 3x .....no one has done that....he still holds the AL record of 185 RBI's...
