GDP America vs Canada, compared from 1980 to today (IMF). An unaccountable caste system vs essentially a meritocracy. Which system excelled?

When you suppress peoples ambitious and dreams to justify the expanding, unaccountable police state, this is the outcome.

It is going to get worse I assure you.

There is a police state in America. America has never been a meritocracy. Don't believe the hype.
Well, a police state today is more covert and.central control. I am trying to influence our system but it is a Herculean task.

Only ONE ASPECT of IM2's ancestors bastardry and slave practices.

The Devshirme System
The devshirme system (from the Turkish word for "collecting") was a cornerstone of early Ottoman administration and military structure.
  • Function: The primary purpose was to create a loyal, elite corps of soldiers (the Janissary corps) and administrators who were directly dependent on the Sultan, thereby counterbalancing the power of the Turkish nobility.
  • Process: Officials would take Christian boys, typically aged 7 to 20, relocate them to Istanbul, convert them to Islam, circumcise them, and provide rigorous training in military arts, administration, and science.
  • Impact: Recruits were separated according to ability, and the most talented could rise to the highest ranks of the empire, including Grand Vizier. The system was resented by local Christian populations due to the forced separation from their families.
  • Decline: The practice began to die out in the 17th century as Muslims were officially allowed into the corps and Ottoman soldiers began enrolling their own sons.
