Gay Marriage is NOT
"Fundamental to our very Existence and Survival."
LOVING V. VIRGINIA, 388 U. S. 1 :: Volume 388 :: 1967 :: Full Text :: US Supreme Court Cases from Justia & Oyez
There was Supreme Court Precedent that the San Fran Judge Ignored...
Maybe that's because U.S. District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker is a Homosexual, eh?...
Dog in the Fight and all... ***** with your Objectivity a little?
peace...
And?
Heterosexual Marriage is NOT "Fundamental to our very Existence and Survival." either.
You can **** and have kids WITHOUT being married. You can **** and not have kids and still not be married.
Mal is just off base here. Even in Loving the SCOTUS did not declare that marriage was a constitutionally protected right, because it's not. PERIOD. It's a God given right, as correctly defined in Loving.
Now if you can't accept that fact then there is no need to further debate, No Syrenn I'm not saying YOU, I know you agree here. The fact is that the government is not obligated to recognize marriage, BUT once they choose to do so, they are obligated to extended that privilege to all. That is the true basis of Loving, and the basis on which barring gays from marrying is unconstitutional.
And that is why I advocate doing away government sanctioned marriage.
