From a lifelong BuffaloNian ….a reminder to bills fans

Many things are true at once.
  • KC played very well.
  • Buffalo played very well
  • 3 game changing plays went 3-0 to the Chiefs.
I’m not saying it was “rigged”…. Buffalo could have won, but this game will do the NFL no favors as far as trying to combat the refs/Chiefs “relationship” over the past 4-5 years.
It’s sad that it comes down to these kind of calls with so much athletic talent and performance on the field.

I did not take notes but near the end, there was one drive by Buffalo trying to get 1st down on 4th and 1 where Allen pounded the ball up the middle and may or may not have gotten it. The two refs each came in indicating different positions. Of course, they finally decided on the mark which failed Buffalo and turned the ball over to KC on downs.

KC wasn't THAT good, approaching halftime, they were only up by 2 points over the Bills, but they poured it on towards the end whereas the Bills sputtered towards the end. Off hand, the SB looks to be a toss up, if both teams show up ready to play, it could be a real game. Phili is pure muscle and grit. KC is strategy, tactics and finesse. KC also showed a lot of gumption in defending the line. I guess it will come down to a battle of wills, who wants it the most. I can see the Eagles winning the game but somehow my heart tells me that it will come down to great strategic coaching by Andy Reid, you know, didn't he used to coach for Phili, too?

I almost always root against Filthadelphia (sixers, phillies, flyers, and eagles), but I might actually root for them this year. Better yet, I prolly won't tune in. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

It's supposed to be impossible for a team to stay together long enough to win this many Superbowls. But if you have a great organization that's winning, maybe it's easier to keep players who might be able to make more on another team. Is $1 million more a year worth going to a shitty team when you already make $3 million a year? For some it is I'm sure.

So as a Lion's fan, we think we only have 1 year left before we start losing players to trades or free agency. Sucks. Yet the Bills and Chiefs seem to stay strong year after year after year after year. Or Green Bay. Every fucking year they're good. Lose Bret Favre, get Aaron Rogers. Lose him, find Love. WTF? LOL

I can't wait till the Chiefs become the Golden State Warriors. Right now they are in 11th place. 22 and 23. Or they become the Patriots. 4 and 13 record this year.
I know the lions have had tough years. But the Buffalo Bills went through a severe playoff drought from around 2000 all the way to 2018 no playoff appearances in those years.

Josh Allen has played a huge role as a franchise quarterback in reigniting the Buffalo Bills.

It sucks when you have a QB who's pretty damn good but it's just not ever going to be enough. Romo, Dak, Lamar Jackson.

Lamar looked way too okay with losing that last game. I know it's just a game but to smile after a heart breaker like that? I'm sure he was glad it was a good pass and it was the receivers fault for not catching it. That would have tied the game. Remember? So close.

Josh gets so close. LOL.

I think Josh should/could and might still win a superbowl. But let's be realistic. He aint getting any older. And other teams are getting better. The window she closes. LOL.

Must be nice to be a Green Bay fan. To go from Favre to Aaron Rogers to Love. Never have to go through the rebuilding years. In a weak ass division with Chicago, Vikings and Lions. But this year it was the best division. Team in third had 11 and 6 record. Green Bay.

But let's face it. It's easier to predict who won't win a Superbowl because most of them won't. Will Hurts? I sure hope so. I won't lose any sleep if Mahomes beats them but I do hope Philly ends the streak. But the other half of me wants Mahomes to catch Brady. Nah. Fuck that. LOL

I love him too. I hated him when he was playing but he is the GOAT. I know Lebron has the numbers but numbers don't always matter.
Why limit it to MJ and Lebron? Bill Russell had 11 championships in 13 years, 5 MVP’s. Kareem, Wilt, even Magic Johnson all should be considered
Just like Mahomes doesn't have to win 7 championships to become the GOAT.
Why is Tom Brady the GOAT? I can easily argue Peyton was better.
Maybe 2 more Superbowls and people will start saying Mahomes is the GOAT because of how he won. Mahomes is amazing. Tom was great too but perhaps Mahomes is a better QB. Certainly a better athlete. Just like Lebron is the superior physical specimen to Jordan.

It was the way Jordan won. First, he got educated by the Bad Boys, Larry Bird and Lakers.
Aka he lost.
Then he dominated 3 straight years. Took a break, then came back and won 3 straight again.
Well, the bulls dominated. The year MJ left the Bulls won 57 games without him and barely missed the finals.

By comparison, when Lebron left Cleveland the team went from winning 60+ games to 20.
Come on man. If it was a movie you'd say that's not realistic. Unbelievable.
It’s a great story, Jordan is absolutely at the top of the discussion, but any claim that it’s “settled Science” is just dumb
It took Lebron 20 plus years and still doesn't have as many rings as MJ. Sure Jordan had better teams but Jordan was also better in the finals too.
Lebron never had many stable organizations, never had a GOAT coach in Phil Jackson. He has amazing playoff stats that can easily offset things MJ has done. Jordan never had to face another dynasty team in the finals, Lebrons teams beat 2 (Golden State, San Antonio)
Jordan got the flu, still won.
If you believe he had the flu, you bought the BS. We know He was hungover as he was in Atlantic city in the wee hours. He still played amazing, but the “flu game” was NBA/Bulls propaganda to protect MJ’s image

Actually the opposing city gave him food poisoning. Jordan. And he still won. Legendary. There is no debate Jordan is the GOAT. I could take your word for it or ask every NBA player who they think is the GOAT. Guess who they say is? Jordan, beeach.

Good for the Bulls being competitive but letting Houston win 2 while Jordan tried to play baseball. Did you know Mahomes was drafted by the Tigers?

I've said this before about Aaron Rogers. Same for Manning. Both on paper way better than Brady. All except for the one category that matters most. WHEN it matters most. Winning! Brady is still the GOAT.

But if we were playing pick up football on the playground and Brady in his prime and Mahomes in his prime, I take Mahomes.

Jordan and Lebron, I take Jordan. He makes Lebron his bitch. That's how I remember Lebron's legacy. Kobe would have spanked Lebron too. Best physical athlete for sure. Owns all the records. Built for it. God couldn't have done any better in making a basketball player. Lebron could have probably been a football player or baseball player too. Legendary. I thank God I got to witness such greatness. Like Babe Ruth. But I saw Lebron fold too many times. I don't remember the Jordan folds. His battles against Detroit, Boston and LA were competitive. They passed the torch to the Bulls and that mother fucker won them 6 championships. 2 3peats. Get out of here with that shit. Jordan the GOAT. PERIOD.

Well, at least there's a good chance you'll have snow to shovel that day, and won't need to watch the game.

We’ve discussed basketball greatest before. You regurgitate the Jordan mythology with little to no objective measures to back up your claim. I’ll pass on just listening to an emotional fan profess their faith as some sort of an argument. There’s a short list of GOAT candidates, Jordan is on it, and I could make an argument he is, but by metrics used I could also make a convincing case he’s not with multiple players

Who me? Nope. I'm staying at my brothers condo in Fort Lauderdale all February. He's not using it. I'll be at my 95 year old uncles Superbowl party. Looks like 79 degrees seems to be what I'm looking at.

Glad we agree Jordan is the GOAT. Not just because I say it my friend

  • In a poll 58.3% of 103 players voted for Jordan.
That's 60%. And Lebron didn't get the other 40%. Because like you, some of them make a convincing argument for MULTIPLE other players. I wonder what percent of the vote Lebron got.

37% of the vote.

So 37% of them agree with you. 58% agree with me. I'd say I'm winning this argument.

Guess what? This is an argument that can never be settled. We'll just have to agree I'm right.

Most players will have bias based on who they watched or were exposed to, and what the sports media reports

There ya go.. you finally sound like an adult

The Chiefs/refs thing has gotten so incredibly predictable.

I can’t even take their games seriously anymore. I just put the game on in the background while I’m doing other things, and it seems like every time I look up, there’s yet ANOTHER controversial call in a critical moment that favors the Chiefs.

I expect the same in the Super Bowl. I’ll watch it passively. I’ve never been less interested in the big game.

As I said. If Philly's D is smart, they'll take out Mahomo early in the game. Hopefully with a career ending and debilitating injury.

Drinking the haterade late into the night I see

Uh huh. Sure thing.
There's a guy in THIS thread still bitching about the Pats dynasty and how they got all the calls. That dynasty's been dead for years. You're just butt hurt because the current dynasty kept your team from winning a SB. Maybe you're just too young to remember, too much of a homer to admit it, or just too dumb to understand that this always happens it's only amplified because of the internet.

You spend more time glazing the Chiefs than you do talking about teams from Pittsburgh. Don’t pretend you’re not a fan boy of theirs, dumbass.
