Fossil Fuel Exec Brags Of 'Hitting The Jackpot' As Natural Gas Prices Surge Amid Deadly Crisis In Texas

...they did not die because of ERCOT /etc----my dad LIVED --outside--in 30 BELOW 0 weather!!! and did not die--that wasn't windchill ..they died because they were not prepared/smart/etc

So you send the utility company your money then. It's not my problem if they lose money. The citizens of Texas should make sure the utility company has to eat it. Not them.
Yeah, we know bro. "It's not my problem"...trust me, we are aware that you and your party feel that way about other human beings. :)

Thanks for saying it outright tho.

Swing and a miss. It's my party that's in your state right now helping the people now, while your party is on a plane to Cancun, and fossil fuel execs are salivating about all the "big gubmint" welfare they're going to get to line their pockets with.

Human beings and Republican fossil fuel donors, aren't human beings that anyone should care about. Bro

Sounds like you're both in the same party to me. :dunno:

.....you prove your posts are total bullshit--you mention ONE Republican -NOT the party/etc......
..YOUR party has been destroying the US all year long

More than two dozen Texans have died as a result of Winter Storm Uri—and thousands remain without heat, water, and food—but widespread evidence of human suffering didn't stop one dirty energy executive from boasting about profiting from the crisis.

"Obviously, this week is like hitting the jackpot." That's what Roland Burns, president and chief financial officer of Comstock Resources, Inc., a shale drilling company, told investors on an earnings call earlier this week, according to NPR.

And apparently, Texas Republicans are expecting exactly that.

Yep. They're expecting the rest of the tax payers of America to pay the price gouging utility bills, Texas homeowners will be receiving, to pad their own pockets, and political campaigns, for a disaster the their failed disaster capitalist policies caused in the first place.

Please call your Senator at 202-224-3121, and tell them not one dime of tax payer money goes to Texas utility companies. Let governor Abbott explain those bills to them. I'm sure they'll be sympathetic, and understanding to that whole small government thing.

Too funny, they have and you people like you to thank for this. Everything Uncle Joe has done has led to this.

You've no idea how hypocritical skewsy is, ask him what business he is in.

Jerry Jones’ natural gas company ‘hits jackpot’ as Texas ...
...
Feb 17, 2021 · Gas from Comstock’s Haynesville wells was sold on the spot market for between $15 and $179 per thousand cubic feet, chief financial officer Roland Burns

And then you'll whine about how the infrastructure is not up to par for a hundred year event. Quit whining. There are homeless in the north of this country that live through these conditions every winter. If you have a roof over your head, you are fortunate.

Yes Let people continue to sit in the dark longer as punishment for daring to have sat in the dark to begin with. That'll teach em that Hillary should have won.

Hillary in charge would have made it worse, not better.
However, lack of energy infrastructure built for extreme cold which is rare to "no prior experience" goes back further than the 2016 elections.

Shyte happens.

Capitalism at work.
A socialist government built power system doesn't fail when extreme conditions hit it? What a miraculous thing. The guy's a jerk, has nothing to do with Capitalism. He'd be one of the elite in a socialist country, living high on the hog while the rest of the people suffer.
As someone who lives in Texas, you have no idea what you're talking about. please be quiet.

There is a lot to understand about energy shortage in Texas

but based on that link it appears that Comstock is able to deliver natural gas when other companies cannot

is it because they winterized their production fields better than the other guys?

And speaking of other guys.

It’s not enough that Jones somehow hoodwinked local taxpayers into paying for the stadium his team plays in; now he’s gouging them senseless as they face one of the biggest crises they’ve encountered in decades.

Texans voted themselves into a utility poker game, allowing consumers to simply choose a billing company to sell them what was already on the grid. Some Texans chose companies using a conservative pricing strategy - flat rate billing across the year. Others explicitly chose companies that charge market prices, thinking that they would take advantage of low prices and take the risk that they'd have to pay higher prices if prices went up. They played the market. And then they lost and they want the rest of America to cover their gambling losses.

Let them pay their 17,000 dollar utility bills. I don't feel a bit sorry for them.

CA did all the things that you just described in TX. Ask PG&E how that worked for them. Rolling blackouts are common in the "golden state" LOL. Utility deregulation is such a great idea. NOT.

? An 11 year old kid died. Millions went without warmth in their homes...my best friend had to take his family to a hotel.

Nobody is a pussy.

Isn't that the American dream? Hurray, for free markets and capitalist who help to kick yous when you are down and to economically enslave the mass populace..

"Big government please save me, I'm too stupid and lazy to fend for myself". It must be hell living with you and having to listen to your endless whining.

.
And you can quote where I said anything about "big government" or sit over there with the other dummies.

You are the singing the hymn of the socialist - capitalism bad, it make us slaves. Sounds like you are pining for a large bureaucracy, intrusive socialist country to come to your aid.

.
