Former Texas megachurch pastor indicted on child sexual abuse charges

Another typical MAGA pastor.
Pastors run the gambit of weasels to actual saints. Majority are somewhere in between. Some are just dupes...easily beguiled into compromising positions where evil people take advantage of them. (By claiming sexual assault when none ever existed)

Some are outright embarrassing with the crap they preach from pulpits (Westboro Baptist)

However,
The majority are trying to do the right thing and encouraging others to be more moral than an average person.

That's why it makes headlines when a pastor is caught. Usually they aren't the guilty ones.

By and large most of the vast majority of churches in America have congregations of about 50-75 people. About half to a third of that show up on any given Sunday. The pastor(s) usually rotate in and out on Sundays.

The senior pastor of these mega churches are like rock stars or movie stars....kinda unapproachable by most of the congregation. You usually don't get one in your house for a home cooked supper.
And you just about have to kill somebody to be an elder in one of these megachurches. You have to be a multi millionaire and have a clean record....meaning only they know where the bodies are buried. (Careful around them or you might be one of those buried)

Now these churches do tend to spearhead all sorts of altruism in their communities with assistance for the poor or homeless. Also daycares and intramural sports for disadvantaged youth. Also summer camps and swimming pools. Also they are the ones with boots who rebuild communities after natural disasters. Not FEMA, Red Cross, or any other government program.

So....go easy on the Churches.
Salvation Army, Samaritans Purse, and other various Church Sponsored organizations have been instrumental in EVERY national disaster.

Throw him in Jail for breaking the law. I as a Christian expect nothing less. and find any underlings who have done the same, or covered it up and jail them also
Oh for sure...
They were contacted by the victim's LAWYER in 2005 .....both the DA who brought charges today and the elders of the Church.

They ALL COVERED IT UP FOR 20 YEARS.

This guy is accused of "receiving" a video of two underaged girls having sex.

So there are two victims, but the accused is not the one who abused them.

It sounds like he downloaded the video from somewhere.

It's amazing the government is monitoring us to that extent.
The loss of unalienable rights is massive. Internet and social media can indict you. People can screw with other people also. The other side is that you can vent. And venting is better than violence. Look at how we are treated now in public places. High security near everywhere. Stipulations to enter areas. A few nights ago, we had a chance to legislate penalties and criminal charges against people who smear others on the net and social media. Congress voted it down.

"a former spiritual adviser to President Donald Trump"
Then why have we never heard of this dude before?....
We are just suppose to believe this rag?...

The crime allegedly happened more than 40 years ago, it should be interesting to see what actual evidence is presented here.
That's pretty much always how it is. Every allegation against Catholic priests is 40-50 years old, whereas sexual abuse in the public school systems is far more rampant and currently ongoing. No stories about that. This proves the intent of this story is to slam religion.

You don't think this will harm Trump do ya?... a former adviser??? So any preacher you may have known in the past can now be referred to as your spiritual adviser?... the stories are fake news and written to shed a dark light on President Trump... this too will backfire...

Gateway Church is one of the largest in the US. I bet good money there is many more than this one victim.

I remember when I still at St. Anthony Foundation in the Development/Donations work group. About a week after September 11th attack. I opened a letter from a Woman in New York City. Her daughter worked at the World Trade Center; she wrote that she had promised to donate to SAF if her daughter was alright. It her daughter 4 hours to walk home. Her hair was mussed up and she covered in dirt. But otherwise, fine. Her Mom sent us a check for $5,000.00. She later called and thanked us for letter we sent to her, she sent a picture of her daughter.

Any child molestation act is horrific, but his activity took place after he started that church, I say thrown him in there with the lifers and they will do the rest. I just pray that his victim is still here and didn't commit suicide like some people have after suffering such a nightmare.

God bless you and the girl always!!!

I'm always leery of accusations that are over 40 years old.
She has been trying to get justice for 20+ years. She's had an attorney for that long trying to get Oklahoma to prosecute for 20+ years quietly....

Only recently, almost a whole year ago, she went public with her accusations by telling the press. Today, Oklahoma decided they were finally going to press charges. (Same DA this whole time) Because it suited them politically.

The charges aren't fictitious or even denied.
Which is the REAL STORY about how nobody did anything to help this woman get justice. The church didn't nor did the State of Oklahoma.
