Former Sec of State Clinton Gaffes Again

Clinton gaffe: Former secretary of State confuses Britain's political parties

The former secretary of State, who's been heavily promoting her new book "Hard Choices" in a likely precursor to running for president in 2016, appeared to state the Conservative and Tory Parties in Britain were rival political parties during a BBC interview.

"Tory" is in fact another name for the Conservative Party in Britain.

Asked by the host what she thought of the "Special Relationship" between the U.S. and Great Britain, Clinton declared it was "very special between our countries."

"There's not just a common language, but a common set of values that we can fall back on," she said. "It doesn't matter in our country whether it's a Republican or a Democrat or frankly, in your country, whether it's a Conservative or a Tory. There is a level of trust and understanding. That doesn't mean we always agree because, of course, we don't."

So, tell me again just what her qualifications are for the job of POTUS is? Tea with the queen just doesnÂ’t seem to do it for me, or most of the voters if they really thought about it. Her stint at Sec. of State was an unmitigated failure at best.

The fact that after years of being Sec. of State and she still doesnÂ’t know that Tory and Conservative Party is the same in Britain should give us a clue to how well she performed as Sec. of State.

This is how it would sound to Brits and learned foreigners, in terms Democrat voter can understand:

"It doesn't matter in our country whether it's a Republican or GOP."

Just trying to be helpful for those bereft of knowledge.

I love how all the people who are so adamantly opposed to Hillary Clinton becoming president are simultaneously determined to give her the continuous publicity she would need to lay a solid foundation for a 2016 presidential run.

It's as if you don't even understand that every time you hammer away at petty nonsense like this, you're only driving the undecided and disaffected camps further and further towards supporting her.

She doesnt have any. Even the libs on this board can't think of anythng other than "she'll win the nomination." Her main quals seem to be the Clinton name, which she took, and lack of a penis, which she periodically remedies.

The adage that any publicity is good publicity applies to Kanye West and that ilk, but unless America has dumbed down even more than I thought, not those who seek public office.

Poor flat-broke Hillary.:D

This is neither good nor bad publicity, it is merely trivial. Democrats who support Clinton aren't going to care and thus won't report on it, but Republicans who oppose Clinton will. This is the kind of garbage that is running the GOP into the ground. The whole "flat-broke Hillary" thing is completely valid, and an effective criticism of her; but "she said the wrong name once so you should vote against her" can only hurt whoever the 2016 Republican nominee is, as well as today's Republican Party as a whole.

Can you not see this? Anyone not already committed to vote Republican no matter what--i.e., Democrats capable of being swayed and independents--will see this as a petty smear, and will tune out the Republican Party's message, candidate, and supporters. No, this single issue won't lose any races for the GOP, but realistically, it's this trend of political gossip being branded as "news" that will sink the Republican Party if it continues.

Wow..A former Sec of State who doesn't even understand a country she's visited numerous times within political circles, their own political system.. That borders pure laziness as well as sheer ignorance.

Yea, go ahead and run this dumbass.. please.

I'd argue that Hillary lacks a penis.

:eusa_hand:

Probably another tread.

I'm not sure you are correct.

Palin was, and is even to this day, effectively smeared with very much the same nonsense.

Thanks for the link, but I couldn't open: To what poll is Rove referring?

Either it's early onset dementia, that fall did more than give her a concussion, or she's stupid.

Run, Hillary, run.

OK, I thought Rove had discovered something new.

As Hillary offers herself as more of a target, it seems natural that her 60% approval rating would decline, particularly among independents.

Of course, Partisan dems and republicans will not be changed.

My guess is that once Republicans choose a front-runner 2016 candidate, the race will be very close between her and Hillary. Currently though, any prediction is somewhat suspect, particularly when it comes from Carl Rove, or Gallup, who did a terrible job predicting the 2012 Presidential Race.
