That looks like a mentally ill person.
Since we won't invest in mental health treatment or compel the mentally ill to get help, we are probably going to have to learn to live with people like this.
He's not here, you said it, I;m asking you. Why would Joe Biden be in front of a jury? Those were Hur's words, not mine, go pester him.
The ones that don't want to compel the mentally ill to get help are the advocates wanting them to be allowed to stay on the street.
And you came to that "conclusion" how?So are the conservatives who want to slash programs to give tax breaks to billionaires.
Nurse Ratchet was a fictional character. I have however, read quite a few non-fiction books on the subject.Actually, they were closed by SCOTUS rulings, when the majority of the court were Eisenhower and Nixon appointees.
Except he had to admit under cross that Biden was cogent during interviews...
the problem was, he didn't really have a case. He knew he didn't have a case, but let's take an opportunity to slander the sitting president.
If you are too stupid to know this, you shouldn't be participating in the conversation.
Except they really weren't. They did the best they could with the resources they had, and the fact most of these people really can't be treated. Medicate them, keep them fed and sheltered. Job done.
But some idiots saw "One flew over the Cookoo's Nest" and thought that was a real thing.
Yes, those liberals are a little silly.
So are the conservatives who want to slash programs to give tax breaks to billionaires.
And you came to that "conclusion" how?
And it is the federal government responsibility to provide those programs because ............?
The states rely on federal subsidies that aren't coming, that's the problem.Yet they are the ones running things in most cities and States.
But keep throwing out deflecting whataboutisms.
The states rely on federal subsidies that aren't coming, that's the problem.
The Feds were the ones who created the federal mandate that you couldn't keep Crazy Bob locked up in the looney bin.
But then didn't provide the funds to treat Crazy Bob in an outpatient facility.
We throw tons of money at this already, mostly for the salaries and pensions of the people who do just enough to stop the homeless from dying en masse, but not enough to fix the problem.
Give me some numbers.
How much are we spending.
How many homeless people are we talking about.
I think we had this conversation once before.
NYC spends 4 billion on aiding the homeless. Sounds like a lot.
Until you realize there are 350,000 homeless people in NYC. So just a little over $10,000 per homeless person to provide shelter, food, medical treatment, etc.
It is a lot. The problem is there is no reason for them to fix the situation regardless of how much money we throw at it. There is no accountability, no success metrics, and no consequences for failure.
Most of that cost goes to salaries and pensions for the people working on the situation, or supposedly working on it.
Dateline: New York City - December 2024.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Subways are out of control and crime is quickly going back to the bad old days of pre Rudy Giuliani. Seems there is an illegal alien problem. NYC says a Byrna self protection device is "illegal" in their city.
I say that since the politicians have failed, you should carry one, just in case, and not be afraid to use it. Only FORCE is going to get through to the protected criminal element.
I will not travel to a big blue city, without one.
do you have a breakdown on that, or are you just pulling stuff out of your ass?
