The arresting officer, Sgt. James Crowley, has said his information on the race of the suspects came during a brief encounter with Whalen outside Gates' house. Whalen contradicted that Wednesday, saying she made no such description and that the only words he uttered were for her to stay where she was.

You said the other day that you thought it odd that Boston papers where not reporting that Whalen's lawyer said she denies speaking to Crowley.

charges were filed for Disorderly Conduct, and 5 days later, they were dropped, gates was fingerprinted, photographed and put in a cell for Four Hours....he now has a police record.

So when Crowley said, "I'm placing you under arrest?" He wasn't arresting him? When mug shots were taken it was because he was detained?

So when Crowley said, "I'm placing you under arrest?" He wasn't arresting him? When mug shots were taken it was because he was detained?

I wasn't aware that this country now requires it's citizens to carry ID, much less produce it while in their own homes.

Everything that I need to know about this case was in a couple of police reports that were independently exculpatory.
