I'd not want to have to depend on a EV to get me away from danger so I suspect many would be left behind in favor of a ICE vehicle.

great ******* car ! sounds like a few homes might end up burning down...all that fire and smoke bad for climate change!
 
looks dangerous as hell for one of those big batteries..

There's a shitload of lithium in those batteries. All it takes is for one to be damages and gotten wet, then you have a major fire. I use the smaller 16340 and 18650 rechargeable Li-Ion batteries in several flashlights and weapon lights and I won't charge them when I'm not home. They get stored in an air-tight metal container.
