This guy's grifting never ends. Qatar gives him a jumbo jet. Then he steals Venezuelan oil using the U.S. military like it is just one of his personal mafia enforces. Then (SURPRISE!) he stashes the proceeds of the stolen oil in an off shore Qatari bank account...and nobody bats an eye.
Just another day in Trump's dystopia.
And very soon he'll move on to the next outrage, like a shell game. Keep everybody guessing which shell that pea is under.
Soon nobody will even remember that he used our military to steal half a billion dollars from another sovereign nation and then fleeced U.S. taxpayers for it.
We'll never see a penny of it.
Either will Venezuela.

The White House has reportedly stashed millions of dollars from sales of Venezuelan oil in Qatari banks since the ouster of President Nicolas Maduro, raising huge questions about how the money will be allocated and if Congress and the American public will have a say.

An estimated $500 million from the first Venezuelan oil sales has already been deposited in U.S.-controlled accounts, but that could be the tip of the iceberg as American officials seek to broker sales of up to 50 million barrels of oil, Semafor reported Thursday.

It’s not clear what the money will be used for or who will decide how to allocate it.

Donald Trump has said he will use the money as he sees fit to stabilize Venezuela’s economy as part of a larger plan to “run” the country indefinitely, apparently while leaving Maduro’s former vice president Delcy Rodriguez in power.

The murky arrangement is likely to draw criticism and legal action from critics who say the money should be going directly into U.S. coffers or handled in a much more transparent way.

Remember Qatar gave Trump the jet, so he probably trusts them to look after the money

We don't even know who the oil has been sold to or who paid for it or even if it was really paid for.

Putting the money in Qatari banks protects it from creditors, and from being tied up in US courts.

Everything is legal and above board. Bessent is controlling the $500m.

Why the Trump administration is holding millions of dollars from Venezuelan oil sales in a Qatari bank

The funds were sent to Qatar, rather than being held in US banks or sent directly to Venezuela, according to a former administration official familiar with the matter. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Newsmax Wednesday evening that the cash from the oil sales would start to flow into Venezuela as soon as Thursday. Venezuelan banks have started advertising cash, suggesting the oil proceeds have arrived in the country, two sources with knowledge of Venezuela’s financial system said.

Placing the money into an account in Qatar – potentially out of the reach of western businesses and creditors who have claims for money they say they’re owed – is one way to achieve the administration’s goals.

See Post #5.
Nope! Offshore foreign bank vs regulated dealings IN the United States, with foreign banks....not even close to being legit when off shoring the money imo....

That's what the MAFIA does....the crooked, imo.

Do we both agree that the money belongs to Venezuela?
If so, if it ends up being spent in Venezuela instead of held up by US courts, isn't that a good outcome?
Bessent said he is controlling the money, not Trump.

Well you LIED out your Dem sewer hole right out of the gate. I assume the rest of your post is full of Dem lies? Do Dems have any shame or remorse about their blatant lying?

Gee a paywall citation. Not surprising given the paste job you made and the fact that it cites no sources. Left wing Babylon Bee. Meh.
