One of the greatest stories in golf is John Daly winning at Crooked Stick in 1991 after being chosen as an alternate to play. Now we have another first timer in the PGA Championship, Mito Pereira of Chile, leading by three strokes going into the final round.

He seems cool enough to win it. An interesting thing was said about him and the current 4th place player (Young), both went to Wake Forest in college, both played there on a course designed by the same person who designed Southern Hills in Tulsa, so this might be giving them somewhat of an edge over the field.

There is no "edge" on that course. It is long as fuck, and you have to be able to stay in the fairway and hit approach shots from a little longer than usual. As intended, whoever wins this will deserve it.

The wind is playing havoc with all of these drives. Watching all the top players tee off into the trees is proof of that.
