Here's the thing. My family owns an acre of forest next to a lake in Wisconsin.

On that property, over the years, I've seen deer, bears, foxes, wolves, coyotes, otters, skunks, porcupines, raccoons, eagles, ducks, cranes, and loons. As a pre-teen, I was an amateur entomologist and collected and cataloged 200 species of insects.

The problem with the infestation of Canadian Geese is that it isn't natural. They would never breed in those kinds of numbers in the forest as they do in suburban and exurban areas. They have ample supplies of food by rooting through garbage (and soft-headed people who feed them) and no natural predators. They don't fear humans because they don't see us as a threat.
