So explain why he initially got a bad paper discharge (it was upgraded under Carter) and lost his medals (they were "reissued" when he got in the Senate, which wouldn't have necessary unless the Navy stripped him of them, since they would have been a part of his official records)...

Or why he had to have his medals REISSUED when you can only lose your medals on a Dishonorable or Undesirable Discharge (the equivalent of a Dishonorable without the felony conviction)..

Bullshit. Lurch was not a genuine war hero. He got puffed rice in the ass and he got hit with "shrapnel" from firing his own gun in a "fight" with an enemy that probably didn't even exist at that moment and place.

Or maybe you have his excursion into Cambodia in mind? You know. The orders he got from "President" Nixon while President Johnson was actually the President?

And his consideration for a possible nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize has nothing to do with his alleged status as a war "hero," anyway.
