Maurene Comey, a federal prosecutor who handled criminal cases against Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, is contesting her abrupt July firing in a lawsuit that challenges Donald J. Trump’s claim of sweeping presidential power.

Ms. Comey, whose father, James B. Comey, is a former F.B.I. director, says in the lawsuit filed on Monday that she was never given a reason for her dismissal. She contends that no plausible explanation exists other than that she is the daughter of one of the president’s best-known adversaries — or her perceived political affiliations.

Ms. Comey is among many federal prosecutors and Justice Department officials who have been fired in President Trump’s second term, with no reason given beyond Article II of the Constitution, which broadly describes the president’s powers. Some have challenged their dismissals before administrative judges; others have sued in federal court.

Her only real offence is that she is the daughter James Comey. Which is enough for Trump and company.

The fig doesn't fall far from the tree.... Sometimes it better to never let it take root..

James Comey, her father, is under investigation for High Treason based upon his actions in the Russia Gate hoax and other attacks against the rule of law.

As his daughter, she really can't expect to be relied upon to aid in the efforts of the DOJ to have her own father hanged. Might even be considered a possible leak to the defense.

She may be on the up and up. But if she is as competent and honest as libs say, she should have no problem finding other employment in the law business. There is always room for more lawyers ginning up business in the country's ERs'

You’re delusional.

When Clinton entered the WH in 1993, he fired every prosecutor on staff, so he could fill them with his own people.

It's done quite often in new administrations. That's why Comey has no case.

.

The addled 0.5% of the judiciary have ruled Many Times that the President cannot preside
Then they lose on appeal

She fucked up a high profile case. Getting fired after that is what usually happens when you lose like that.

Aah! The sins of the father... The wrongdoings and moral failings of one generation can affect subsequent generations. She is tainted by her father's misdeeds.....

Not exactly.

It just because she can't be counted on to work to get James Comey to the gallows, which is a major goal of the DOJ. If Mrs. Comey wants to apply to be an ICE agent or something that wouldn't be a problem and a conflict of interest.

Actually, she could recuse herself from the case if it were in her bailiwick. But that would be hard to do..
She should have resigned her position rather than to face this.
IMHO she was told to stay and create this furrough.
