You're comparing apples and oranges. The scoring in American football goes like this:
1 -- extra point
2 -- safety
3 -- field goal
6 -- touchdown
Saying that any American football score should be comparable to the single goal scoring in international football (soccer) makes no sense. You might be thinking of hockey.
Happy Thanksgiving.
You're taking my comments as recommendations....they're not. They're observations....see the next paragraph.
What I find silly is that if the ball crosses a goal line in soccer, you get 1 point/goal. If that happens in football, you're awarded 6 points. It's the same physical action. I find it amusing that many act like soccer is boring and football is so action packed. Especially when in soccer, the ball is in play for 90+ minutes of the -2 hour window they ask for your attention. In football, the ball is dead for a third of the +3 hour window they ask for your attention.
I like that Soccer makes you earn every goal instead of being able to march 1/2 way down the field and (after yet another stoppage in play) kick a ball and get rewarded for the "effort".
I grew up watching American football and there is an aspect of excitement in the violence, collisions, artistry, and strategy involved. I seldom miss an opportunity to watch it when it's on the television.
