Well, a Marshall is basically a Bassman with EL34s, which is also just a Leo Fender tweaked RCA amplification circuit.

I'll have you know that I've seen the ol' reliable EL-34 do many lofty things in my life.

I’ve been digging EL-84s in my advanced age. Easier to push into the sweet spot and are generally self-biasing!

The EL-84 is one of my favorite tubes where a power pentode is needed.

Well, the 6V6 is strictly a guitar-player amplifier tube these days; I'm strictly into audio playback amps myself.

I'm strictly guitar amps. I've got a box full of old non-guitar amp tubes, though. I don't suppose you live anywhere near southern oregon?

Nah, I'm far from there but I see a lot of nice tubes in that box including some from RCA. No, I don't play guitar (I took lessons as a kid but it never went much farther than that), but I have a house full of tubes too, but they are all tubes and tube gear pertaining to home playback equipment.
