Montgomery used a rope to strangle Stinnett, who was eight months pregnant, but Stinnett was conscious and trying to defend herself as Montgomery used a kitchen knife to cut the baby girl from the womb.
Have you heard about life without the possibility of parole??One problem is that she is mentally illWhat's the problem?
Lisa Montgomery: US Sets Date for First Federal Execution of a Woman in 7 Decades
Montgomery will be the ninth person to be put to death since July, when the Justice Department resumed executions after a gap of almost two decadeswww.ibtimes.sg
Even now, Montgomery's attorney, Kelley Henry, argues that she deserves to live because she is mentally ill and suffered childhood abuse. But that is not going to won't help much as the date of her execution has been set. "Lisa Montgomery has long accepted full responsibility for her crime, and she will never leave prison," Henry said. "But her severe mental illness and the devastating impacts of her childhood trauma make executing her a profound injustice."
Another problem is that it is a barbaric practice that serves no purpose except to satisfy a lust for revenge and to allow officials to show that they are tough on crime.
If she is mentally ill that is a concern. However, if that is not proven then she deserves death. It is not barbaric. What it does is insure that a homicidal person won't be able to kill again. There will be plenty of women who will be able to sleep easier when she is killed, because they will know that at least one person who likes to kill, won't be able to do so any longer.
Do they need someone to push down the plunger cause I can find a way to be free on that day.Lisa Montgomery is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection on Dec. 8 at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute, Indiana. She would be the ninth federal inmate to put to death since the Justice Department resumed executions in July after a nearly 20-year hiatus.

They are just pushing them through.
Why?What's the problem?
Because she wantonly deprived a woman of her life, and stole the child who will never know her mother. I am generally not in favor of the death penalty either, but in certain cases, such as this one, it is warranted.
It's not until her appeals hearing that it they discuss her mental illness.

Probobly not. Criminals either don't think that they will get caught, or have little regard for their own lives and may even be tacitly suicidal.I wish that capital punishment were used for robbers, sucker punchers, looters, rapists, and murderers.
Betcha the violent crime rate would go down real fast!
There is no question of guilt. Why?What's the problem?
No, it sounds like typical liberal nonsenseOh, but that sounds like socialism.
I am not highly a sanctity of human life guy, and by exchanging emails planning the deed, driving in from out of state, on her plan to kill the mother and cut out the baby with a kitchen knife, she pretty well used up any life credits she had. Best outcome is a swift carrying out of sentence. There is no question of guilt. Why?What's the problem?
she did it and deserves to be executed

On the other hand, it might be a deterrent for some if we had public quarterings or beheadings with limited appeals. But then we we be emulating China, N. Korea and Saudi Arabia. Are you willing to go that far?
Perhaps a better approach would be to address the underlying issues that breed crime by better funding for things like education, drug treatment, and mental health. Maybe solving the problems of income and wealth disparity, de-facto segregation and racism might help. Oh, but that sounds like socialism. Never mind. Just fucking kill them
It is not a matter of whether or not she deserves to live. The issue is. Are we any better than her if we kill her?No, it sounds like typical liberal nonsenseOh, but that sounds like socialism.
this woman committed a ghastly murder and you have not explained why she deserves to live

There is NO "racism."
In 2020 America and especially next year under the wonderful guy Joseph Biden, Americans are doing everything possible to help certain folks: no punishment for violent crimes, making sure that TV & movies have diversity, no admissions tests for the university, censoring any negative remarks on the Internet, reparations will soon roll out, changing the names of any entity that hurts certain folks' feelings, etc.
Dang! One CEO even said that other Americans should shine the shoes of certain folks.
"Racism"? I don't think so, unless one is referring to reverse racism!
Of course we are better. Are we any better than her if we kill her?
Who does? She don't make any sense.Frankly, I don't know what you're arguing.Why what?Why?What's the problem?
Exactly.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the death penalty. I'm not arguing that here. Is that a problem?
