Federal agency headquarters buildings operated at 12% of their estimated capacity,

The Public Buildings Reform Board finds agency headquarters buildings operated at 12% of their estimated capacity, on average,
So on top of this President Trump did this in his first year as president in 2017..
Since Inauguration Day, President Trump has slashed well over 1,500 planned regulatory actions.
The Trump administration has repealed 22 regulations for each new rule issued, cutting regulatory costs by more than $8 billion.
In fact, federal regulations are now at their "lowest count since records began being kept in the mid-1970s."
Now the following shows why a majority of garbage (per Biden!!) people voted for Trump!
"Small business owners are counting their blessings. "
For years, America's most dedicated job creators — who account for two-thirds of all new U.S. jobs — have been drowning in red tape.
According to a National Small Business Association (NSBA) survey, one-third of small business owners spend more than 80 hours a year meeting regulatory requirements. In their first year of operation, small business employers pay an average of
$83,000 in regulatory costs just to remain compliant.
So folks.. Harris, et.al. complaining about "price gouging"... maybe they should have been looking at themselves and the rules and regulations they endorsed!
It took Donald Trump to break this reluctance. As president, Trump signed 16 CRA resolutions overturning Obama administration rules,15 of them in his first year in office. “This is Newt Gingrich’s knife against the throat of the administrative state that Trump weaponized,” said Segall.

Today we are seeing what President Trump's learned in his first term, i.e. the "deep swamp" is very entrenched and we must if we want to balance our budget reduce federal bureaucracy which the "Department of Government Efficiency" will do Trump, in his statement, set a deadline for their work, saying it would "conclude no later than July 4, 2026."
"A smaller Government, with more efficiency and less bureaucracy, will be the perfect gift to America on the 250th Anniversary of The Declaration of Independence
," Trump wrote. "I am confident they will succeed!".
Just addressing the thread title alone, that is an observation Elon Musk has already made, i.e. federal workers need to be required to go back to the office instead of mostly playing video games and such at home. There seems to be no interest or requirement that these employees be doing actual work for their pay anymore. And if there is nothing constructive or necessary for them to do at the office, then they aren't needed in the federal government at all.

Public workers earn 34 percent more than private workers.
Thank you! It’s a well-known secret here in the DC area that, except for the very top like department chiefs, college-educated federal employees in the middle ranges and high-school educated federal employees in the lower range do substantially better than their counterparts in the private industry. And that’s BEFORE you add in their much superior benefits.

It’s a total scam what they’ve been pulling. Glad we’re finally going to rein it in.

Oh…..the stories I could tell!

And P.S. You should hear how they moan and groan because they have to go into the office one day a week. They have become unbelievably entitled.

They're not gonna cut anything.
They pretty much say that outright in that 2025 plan if one grasps what they're reading.
If you actually read it, all they're really gonna do is keep them and move their offices to different federal agencies. They want to reorganize. Not cut.
True, Musk can't cut anything, but they can make recommendations to Congress.
Back in 1982 the Grace Commission also wanted to cut $2T, but Congress did NOT cut anything.

"Health" $912b
"Income Security" $671b (Welfare? Where is Medicaid?)
"Education" $305b
"Regional development" $88B
"Other $223b

The above items total $2.3T so that is a good place to start from a 2024 Budget that totals $7.54T

After reading some of your posts, I’ve come to the conclusion that you’re one of those people who can’t be left alone lest you **** off all day and don’t get anything done without constant supervision.

Hence, the envy of those adult workers who can and don’t have to show up at the office every day.

You do realize that envy is one of the 7 deadlies.

After reading your post, it sounds like you are a liberal who doesn’t mind wasting tax money on employees who are redundant and barely work.

As far as my needing supervision, haha…..you libs are always wrong. I owned my own business and worked long hours to meet my clients’ needs. If I goofed off like half the government workers do, missing deadlines and making tons of mistakes, I would have been “fired”.

Nope. Reality.

Biden's Budgets are about $6.7T because "omnibus Bills" never cut anything, they just keep adding via continuing resolutions

Trump's Budgets were about $4T before Covid, but bumped up during Covid.

Elon and Vivek plus regular order in Budgets should easily trim $2T from the Budget
There is no $2 trillion to be cut

There is no $2 trillion to be cut
Send Welfare and Medicaid and Education back to the states. (Unconstitutional spending to start with)
Then Cut wasteful spending like subsidies and claw-back the unspent Biden big ticket items and we're way over $2T before Elon and Vivek start cutting the size of government.

There is not $2 trillion of discretionary spending to be cut

There is not $2 trillion of discretionary spending to be cut
Lets look at the 2021 Budget as a baseline.
Look at the "interest on Debt" amount, its only $379b
In 2025 that interest line is now $882b and climbing (if Trump doesn't cut the deficit)
IMHO Welfare and Medicaid are NOT MANDATORY, they are "charity" and should be sent back to the states
Cutting the size and scope of the Federal government and ALL subsidies should save another $Trillion along with clawing back the unspent Biden big ticket items.

We need to get to a surplus and start paying down the Debt or we will be in default.

2021 Federal Budget (The 2024 Budget is 7.5T !!!!!!!!!!)
Outlays $4.88T
Receipts $3.86T
Deficit $1.02T

Discretionary Spending
Defense $753b
Non-defense $733b
Total $1.49T

Mandatory Spending
Social Security $1,115b
Medicare 746b
Medicaid 452b
Other 660b
Interest on Debt 379b
Total $3.39T

Here is a brief summary of options for balancing the budget if cutting does not get to a surplus:
  • Fix Medicare net zero (take Medicare tax from ALL income types)
  • Fix Social Security by raising the cap, and be sure everyone pays into it, no exceptions (net zero)
Send Medicaid to the states +$500b
  • Add new 0.2% transaction tax +$150b (it works in the EU)
  • Add new remittance tax +$6b (on all money sent out of the US, Mexico pays for wall)
  • Remove Capital Gains Tax loop-hole +$100b/yr
Send Welfare to the states +$1.3T
Send Education to the states in block grants +$300b
Eliminate all personal tax deductions (keep business deductions)
    Collect all taxes owed +$400b

The problem I see is that the states don’t have the money to pay all the welfare and Medicaid. All they’ll do is raise taxes MASSIVELY on the hard-working middle class, causing their standard of living to plummet in order to pay for all the free stuff of those who don’t work at all.

Nope. We’ve got to cut the amount of welfare payments. A woman with four or five kids gets about $1200 in food stamps alone, free medical for all of them, subsidized rent, etc., and without ANY of the fathers paying a cent in child support.

The way to reduce the welfare outlay is to require the fathers to get a job and have their wages garnished, and the welfare amount reduced by that amount.

Point being that states are closer to the people and can pull benefits and put them to work.
The Feds are out of cash, so the states need to manage the "charities".

There are $trillions to be saved in a wasteful and bloated Federal government.

Elon said he can trim $2T from the Budget, that would be a great start.
That would be a disaster

A ******* recession or worse

You dunces

1. Going back to the 2018 Budget (by cutting $2T) is essential to keep the US from going bankrupt with $35T in Debt and interest on that debt skyrocketing.

2. Cutting the size of the bloated Federal government is necessary. Cut ED, CFPB, and all those not deemed "essential":

We cannot be more efficient at using government office space because TRUMP IS HITLER AND HIS SUPPORTERS ARE NAZIS!

We cannot cut the federal budget by a penny because TRUMP IS HITLER AND HIS SUPPORTERS ARE NAZIS!

The federal government spends almost $800 billion on contractors, while the government employees stay home and go swimming or to the movies. There is a LOT of work that current employees could do if they were required to come back to the office and work a full week.

When you add in the $760 billion paid to government “.workers,” the total expense is $1.5 TRILLION a year.
