Our nation peaked around 1970 or so. We lost control of the Fiat Currency and the rest of the planet retooled from WW 2 and the most competitive nations surpassed us in many areas. We had hegemony in products of all trypes and then sold much of them off as government employment and anything related, or monopolies became a jewel of salaries and benefits. Taxes skyrocketed. Slowing down growth. It is more difficult the younger generations today.
