Among other things, Wray told the White House that commuting Peltier's sentence "would be shattering to the victims' loved ones and undermine the principles of justice and accountability that our government should represent."

This is why the Democrats grilling Pam Bondi and other outstanding nominees for the trump administration about whether they would be able to say no to President Trump is so absurd.

The Attorney General nor the FBI Director, decide who the president pardons. Do you think every AG in history agreed with every pardon of their president? Especially those mysterious last minute pardons of people who committed heinous crimes, but have some sort of financial or political power.

As to whether Native American activist Peltier should’ve had his sentence commuted, admittedly, I know little about it. But from what I read just in that article it seems reasonable even if not something I would necessarily agree with.

Chris Ray, like so many law-enforcement officers, have this mindset that they and their fellow officers Are these angelic beings for whom any offense toward must be punished far more harshly then someone who for example just killed a Plumber in the act of robbing him or her.

He had not a word to say about Biden, literally pardoning members of the Biden crime family.

I think that there is an absolute among law enforcement folks: If you kill a cop (or anyone in uniform) you can NEVER be forgiven; you must either be executed or die in prison.

In a similar matter, Leftist pundits are trying to get uniformed people all fired up about the criminals Trump pardoned from January 6th. Some might be, but OTOH, that doesn't mean that they would embrace the tribe that chanted "defend the police" for the past four years.
