Um, no, Mussolinni started his fascist party after leaving the Milan communist party. His changes were to accept capitalism and corporations in order to have them support the power structure of the central state, and he also adapted nationalism instead of internationalism.
He kept socialism
The Nazi party's name stood for 'German national socialist workers party'
They were socialists no matter how bad you might not want tthem to have been.
Mussolini had been a Socialist years before. I think in the 20s. He had a falling out with them. The word Fascist was of his making.

, a socialist newspaper - to the leadership of a new political movement called "fascism" [after "fasces", the symbol of bound sticks used a totem of power in ancient Rome].
Mussolini came to power after the "March on Rome" in 1922, and was appointed Prime Minister by King Victor Emmanuel.
In 1932 Mussolini wrote (with the help of Giovanni Gentile) and entry for the Italian Encyclopedia on the definition of fascism.
