A true conservative would never support or grant the federal government the power to legislate the internet.
I am not suggesting that some people who call themselves conservatives wouldn't.

Yet true conservatives seek to grant the Federal government the power to discriminate against same-sex couples, immigrants, and Muslims.

Or are they also not ‘true’ conservatives.

The problem with ‘true’ conservatives is that for more than 40 years they’ve failed to even make an effort to take back their wrongheaded ideology from those who misappropriated ‘true’ conservativism: the social right, blind partisan extremists, and reactionary libertarians.

Indeed, it’s gotten to the point now that the notion of ‘true’ conservatives has become meaningless and devoid of merit.

The ignorance and stupidity of this thread’s premise in fact represents much of what is now true conservativism, as it has existed for quite some time.

Again, the principle of free speech applies solely to the relationship between government and those governed, not between the people and private corporations.

Google is at liberty to refuse to host rightwing hate, bigotry, and racism – where no ‘free speech’ has been ‘violated.’

And conservatives are at liberty to not patronize Google and call for a boycott of Google in retaliation.

That’s how our free and democratic society is designed to work, as envisioned by the Framers: private citizens debating the issues of the day absent the interference of government or the courts.
