Our monarch does have some power, seldom talked about.

For example Australia and Canada have a governor general who reports to King Charles.

That person has the authority (when instructed by the King) to dismiss the elected Prime Minister.

A man named Gough Whitlam, democratically elected PM of Australia was dismissed that way in 1975.

The reason was partly due to CIA pressure (Whitlam was opposed to US bases operating in Australia).
