Lefties just don't understand business....even a $100,000 donation couldn't keep this 'social justice' pizza shop afloat...

A Boston-area pizza shop got a rude slice of reality when it attempted to operate by raising the wages of its workers far above the normal working rate: it closed down.

It turns out that if you can’t compete, there isn’t much profit to go around.

Nothing wrong with fair wages. This concept can work, just not with a pizza business. In order to pay more, you have to be able to charge more. A pizza is a pizza, it's a commodity with some distinguishing qualities, but probably not enough to warrant a big difference in wages compared to competitors. Are you going to drive across town to buy their pizza when you have a craving, or go to the local outlet?

In growth industries, salaries should grow. Technology companies who are successful and who are unique. Industries that foster creativity and new design, businesses that earn larger market share etc. The restaurant model is a horrible industry for such a testing ground in my opinion.

I also like the profit sharing model in businesses. Of course, you need to turn profit in order for it to take place.

Restaurants often close. It's a very tough business.

Aren't republicans kicking out illegals with hopes of raising wages?
