Factory car park is empty and Home Depot store is eerily quiet amid social media claims illegal immigrants are staying away amid Trump's crackdown

You see that all over old West Springfield.....Say between Rolling Road and I95/495. I suspect east of that it's worse around Franconia and such..

They tear down the old ranch homes sitting on .25 acre then build a McMansion on it and the whole remaining yard is paved.

When I would get down that way for yard sales early on a Saturday morning the people living in them would still be there. 6-8 cars would be the norm.....They mostly seemed to be either Pakis or Hispanics.

You could tell the difference by the cars....Pakis would have nice cars, Hispanics, rusted out shitbox Honda Accords and the like.

I haven't been down that way since the Covid but I doubt if it's any better.

There is estimated to be 220K illegals in the counties that make-up NOtVA.....I suspect that's low, I figure there is that many in just Prince William Co alone.
I’m on the MD side. New Hampshire Ave and Georgia Av at the beltway. Gridlock overflowing onto the highway. Existing homes have yards paved over. No mention of zoning laws. Wheaton’s population has grown by over 50% in the past 30 years (that’s just counting the legal ones) but only one moderately sized condo development has been built.

We have a friend who is a shift supervisor in an automotive facility, he told us today the facility told all employees they need documentation they're allowed to work in the United States.

Four left. Evidently employers are taking notice

Footnote, they were temp employees from an agency

And no one is.

You don’t know that.
And there is little doubt that Trump and his knuckledraggers will cheer loudly when evidence emerges. (aand start shouting their racist and and order” tropes.

They might revive theHaitians eating pets lie. Trump nation loved that.

So I'm wondering about people who are in the country legally, but look "suspicious," like Marco Rubio or someone like that. What documents would they have to show to a Federal agent to prove they are in the country legally? I guess if you have a "green card," then you have a green card, but I'm a native citizen and I don't carry anything that proves it.
My white privilege gets me by. Rubio should always carry his passport.

Factory car park is empty and Home Depot store is eerily quiet amid social media claims illegal immigrants are staying away amid Donald Trump's crackdown

Illegal migrants fearing deportation are said to be in hiding, turning usually crowded factories, warehouses and grocery stores into ghost towns.
President Donald Trump has order federal agents to at least 1,200 to 1,500 illegal aliens each day as part of his sweeping immigration crackdown.
Scared undocumented migrants began hunkering down after Trump took office for the second time last week, with dozens failing to turn up to work.
Only 10 out of the usually 40 to 50 migrants workers attended their shifts at a factory in Joliet, Illinois last week, The Chicago Tribune reported, as six federal agencies swept the Greater Chicago area for 'potentially dangerous criminal aliens'.
Locals claim a Home Depot parking lot that is normally packed with day laborers seeking work was 'eerily quiet' with just a men standing around.
Sunday mass at Chicago's St. Agnes of Bohemia Catholic Church was also unusually empty, parishioners claim, likely because the Trump Administration relaxed rules governing enforcement actions at 'sensitive' locations such as schools, churches and workplaces.

ICE agents raided a factory in Springfield, Ohio - a rural area that made headlines over its Haitian migrant population in the run-up to the 2024 election - on Friday, according to social media reports.
One X user claims that following the raid at the Japanese Topre last week, staffing turn out has been low.
'Supposedly they had no 1st shift that day,' the user wrote. 'Topre normally operates 3 shifts, 24/7. I've NEVER seen the parking lot this empty, even on a Sunday.'

Asked about the rule change, Tom Homan, who was tapped to oversee Trump's hard-line immigration agenda, said Sunday it sends a clear message.
'There's consequences of entering the country illegally. If we don't show there's consequences, you're never going to fix the border problem,' Homan, who is also the former head of ICE, said.

All eyes during Trump's first week in office have been on immigration enforcement and deportations, though it was unclear to what extent actions have increased from predecessor Joe Biden.
Homan called on Congress to pass additional funding for dealing with those arrested.
'We're gonna need more ICE beds, a minimum of 100,000,' he told ABC News. 'We're going to try to be efficient. But with more money we have, the more we can accomplish.'
Trump has been unhappy with the number of arrests so far and has directed federal immigration officials to meet higher detention quotas, the Washington Post reported Sunday.
It said he was ordering ICE to raise the arrest numbers from a few hundred a day to at least 1,200 to 1,500, citing people with knowledge of internal briefings.

Commentary:
If enough pressure is place upon them, self-deport that may be a good option.
If they are rounded up and deported, they will never be allowed back.
I happened to notice the same thing here in North Carolina.
Illegals are getting the message and are trying to go underground.
If these places actually employed LEGAL citizens or residents, this wouldn't be a problem. Great time to go shopping without the crowds anyway.
This will force these businesses to pay American citizens decent wages, what's not to like..More Pay....More Tax Revenue......Ya, I will pay more to feel safer and increase our economy's revenue base..
Seems business's may be forced to hire Americans to do the jobs illegal aliens were hired at low wages to perform.
Just think teenagers will be able to find part-time Summer work.
/----/ One local carwash on Long Island was closed, and another one was understaffed.

Employers are simply going to have to pay American workers enough to make it worthwhile for people to work there.

Even if that raises prices... at least the money will be going to Americans and staying here rather than going elsewhere.

And... if employers continue to employ Illegal Aliens in large numbers... their company officers and boards should be indicted.

Here comes inflation, again.

If you want to find the illegals in the DMV area, go check out the post offices. You'll see them trying to find someone that can understand their native language in hopes they'll get help filling out paperwork for driver licenses and passports.

Blame bleeding heart libs for flooding the country with illegals and making such extreme measures necessary
