The problem comes when progressives want to add big government bureaucracy pograms, like the addiction of socialized health care, as well as government entitlements that expand our budget and government spending and expect high taxes as the norm to pay for it. All this talk of high taxes and our national debt, excuse me ... but when has our national debt DECLINED as a result of more increasing taxes? It’s the spending and the expansion of big government programs that are the real threat to the problem. Here is a word progressives don’t want to hear (they may gasp and cover their ears at the very thought) slash government programs that the federal government should not be involved in. Half the progressives probably fainted right there, while the rest are panic stricken - “What do you mean?”
We have federal budgets ... we have state budgets, I can guarantee you the vast majority don’t know who their state legislatures from both parties are, because the federal government handles the load. The reason why progressives don’t care about government spending on the national level, is because the federal government (unlike the state) was given the Constitutional authority to print money. Let the federal government handle those national issues that they were given authority to budget for, while throwing the rest back to the state budget to decide and tackle. The state was given the job of infrastructure, as most progressives don’t know the history of the interstate, and the Federal Givernment does not have the responsibility for their upkeep and repairs. The government does not have the role of giving money to other nations as we are only given the Congressional role of entering into a treaty with respect to this need to finance other nation’s Global causes. We do not have the Constitutional responsibility of Health Care, nor welfare, nor supplying federal funding of education nor funding the government bureaucracy of each. Let the states handle education, roads, health care, within their respective boundaries, and tax their citizens accordingly. Oh ... you mean California can’t get funding off the ground to supply their own single-payer health care system, with all the rich Hollywood elites and big high tech corporations? Look it up. Yet these idiots think it would be best for our Federal Government to do it simply because they have the authority to print money? If we cut the spending and allocate responsibility as our Constitution outlines, we wouldn’t be going through this concern over national debt and the need for more higher and ever increasing federal taxes. You want a more socialist form of government? Then move to Europe as our Constitution (and every nation has their own system of government) does not allow for it.
