No, that's not it at all. Even in a family, most families are not 'socialistic'. There is still normally one person that makes the key decision calls. Kids generally do not have 'an equal vote' in how the household, or the assets of the family, or used or distributed.

My father, made it very clear that as long as I lived under his roof, I had to follow his rules. That's not socialism. There was no equal ownership of the car, when I got my divers license. I had to ask permission to 'borrow the use of his car', and many times the answer was 'no', and there was no 'vote' on the matter.

By the way, they deserve all the entitlements they get, and should get more.

Removing the cap on income taxable by FICA would be a good start. Then increasing payments to to retirees would be nice. Also, extensive increases in the Medicare bugdet would help. If cuts to the Defense Dept are needed to make that happen, I'm okay with that.

That's true enough, but the greedy geezers who supported Medicare Part D are a minority of Republicans.

No, that would be a bad start. Social Securities supporters claim it's a retirement program. Taking off the cap means your benefits have no connection with your payments. That makes it a welfare program. The last thing this country needs is more people on welfare.

Then increasing payments to to retirees would be nice. Also, extensive increases in the Medicare bugdet would help.

Even if that means saddling your children and grand children with a debt they will have to work like borrowed mules for the rest of their lives to pay off? What's "nice" about that? It seems to me that's the ultimate cruelty.
