No, that's not it at all. Even in a family, most families are not 'socialistic'. There is still normally one person that makes the key decision calls. Kids generally do not have 'an equal vote' in how the household, or the assets of the family, or used or distributed.
My father, made it very clear that as long as I lived under his roof, I had to follow his rules. That's not socialism. There was no equal ownership of the car, when I got my divers license. I had to ask permission to 'borrow the use of his car', and many times the answer was 'no', and there was no 'vote' on the matter.
