Those crane operators and lift truck drivers are highly skilled operators. It takes experience and skill to do those jobs without crashing into shit. They have to be aware of everything around them, and they have to keep those containers flowing smoothly in a busy environment.

The strike has nothing to do with Trump or the election. Their contract expired on September 30, and they had not reached an agreement, so they went on strike.

Yes he should. It’s a worker’s right to work or not work. Not working is leverage over employers and I support. Now, in this case the union boss is a Trump buddy so I suspect his reasons may not be 100% aligned with his workers but, in fact, divided along politics, but I don’t know that for certain. I did my Costco run this morning and there were a few people stocking up on paper towels and toilet paper, but not as bad as 2020 (yet).

I'm on the left coast and the ILWU contract here has 4 more years on it, so it shouldn't effect us- but if there is enough media hype, people will hoard and create an artificial shortage.
