When Republicans take over the White House, how are the Democrats going to feel about the use of executive orders?

This issue escalates with every President, and if Trump makes it in...you know his impatience, he will by-pass Congress.

How will the executive orders effect gun control, Health care, borders, immigration and the list goes on.

Democrat or Republican, this is a big issue and every President pushes the envelope.

What say you...

Those aren't executive orders, those are execution orders, if I don't follow them, I'm dead.

You cannot put the EO toothpaste back in the tube without extreme actions. Whether that happens sooner or later can be debated. That it will is beyond reasonable doubt. It could well be that when The Democrat Party finds itself on the wrong side of some future rightist dictator then it's over as The Democrat Militia if wimps, whiners and dopers are wiped out. This WAS a can that should not have been opened.

Oh, we'll hear cries of "they're destroying the constitution" etc....

And how many EOs did GW enact?
I guess Republican toothpaste tastes better than Democratic toothpaste.

How will democrats feel when another president starts voiding all obama's executive orders with other executive orders?

It cuts both ways, and as it progresses it will be tougher to stop. Is it a good thing to run with Executive Orders or only good when one side executes them?

If the Republicans had the kind of congress Obama has you all would have been crying the whole 8 years.... Congress has done nothing and has shown to not be able to function properly.

.

Well, when an Exxon logo gets projected in a light show on the Whitehouse just a couple hours after a rigged Supreme Court Decision on "should we allow Exxon to disturb a public water source with oil drilling (an example)" in Exxon's favor, then you will know how the far left feels about it. They are the quintessential hypocrites and will scream the loudest if such a light display were to go up, indicating the Executive branch had ample heads-up before the public came to know of the decision for the first time:

As to Executive orders that might affect the far left to their core? Why not start at ground-zero: California. There might be an executive order that "for the good of the country's national security, all bans on offshore oil drilling in California will be lifted"....signed...the new republican president..

The left seems mystified why their unbridled exercise of tyranny can't be used by the GOP as well. If you can accomplish disenfranchising infants from their thousands year old contract rights to marriage (a mother and father) and insert your deviant sex cult values into that ancient right and institution with the full blessings of the Executive's blessing and influence (note: any Whitehouse changes require days if not weeks of paperwork and approval in advance) over the Court, there are no limits to what you can do. Until the other party takes over the power hold you just had.

Substance matters. What so do you take issue with?

Look at history for your answer. When Bush used executive orders more than Obama, liberals didn't care. It's that consistency thing that liberals are known for, and which is so foreign to conservatives.

Executive Orders

Bush issued 291 EO's. Obama has issued 227 as of Dec 20 2015. That is, Obama is on a pace to issue significantly fewer EO's than Bush.

Hence, the real issue is the proud double standard displayed by so many righties. Bush used EO's more often, righties didn't care. Obama uses them less often, righties go into meltdown mode. Liberals are consistent, righties are hypocrites.

Wrong.

As is the rest of your post.

You need to educate yourself about EO's.

The left cried a river when Bush used them and are fine with Obama using them. So I see both sides being hypocritical

My question is how far can the envelope be pushed? They seem to draw closer to lines than the previous administrations.

The courts have ruled that some have over stepped authority, yet, that doesn't stop either side.

How can you claim one side is better than the other when both sides use it?

The only Executive Order that should be passed immediately by any - ANY - new President is one that would eliminate ALL Executive Orders for the last 8 years...not just the ones they like or don't like but ALL of them. Start 'fresh'.

The current president refuses to acknowledge that our Founding Fathers established 3 separate branches of government whose powers are separated the way they are for a reason, and that they never intended for a President to use Executive Orders to bypass Congress and rule through the tyranny of imposing his rule on the nation on his own. Obama has no regards for 'Separation of Powers' except that his own power be separated head and shoulders above all others. Despite having verbally acknowledged that he does not have the power to simply make laws when he does not like what is going on, this is exactly what he has done. The nation needs to get back to having a fully-functional, Constitutionally-obedient government consisting of 3 branches of government manned by men and women who understand this and acknowledge and accept it.

Obama's Gun EO, for example - if it is such an awesome ide he should sell it to Congress and let them do their job of authoring and passing it. He refuses to do so. Instead, again, he seeks to impose his will on others.
