Ideally Moscow wants Odessa and all Black Sea ports up to the Danube basin that can exert control over Ukraine exports and particularly grain crops .

As Russia has effectively eliminated the UAF and is now fighting NATO troops , they might as well continue until they meet all of the SMO objectives .

If Russia believes they can continue to sweep aside NATO and take Odessa before Spring of next year , they can then dictate an unconditional surrender from Ukraine and its new President
