Jesus was once a fetus. John the Baptist was the first human to recognize Jesus as God when he left for joy in the womb at his presence.

Yes, John the Baptist was also a fetus at this time.

If a fetus is capable of recognizing the presence of God, certainly he is not a "mass of cells" which can be aborted without grave moral consequences.
