There are a bunch of recyclers out there already recovering over 90% of the components of EV batteries. The more that is recovered, the less that has to be mined. This also brings the price of lithium, nickel, and other components of the batteries down.

Actually price is a function of supply and demand. Recycling may affect supply. But that would depend upon the profitability of recycling which depends upon the cost of recycling and the market price of the recycled materials. Engineering economics ;)

If it costs $1000 to recycle a battery and you get $500 worth of materials,
I don't think you'll get much in the way of recovered materials.

Unless the government decides to waste more tax dollars on this green idiocy.
 
Old Rocks in head never answered the big question for right now: WHY? What;'s in it for me?

I have a gas cars (4cly gas both brand new out the door $22K).
Again, I know I have gas stations all over, 5 min fill-ups. I have two gas credit cards.

WHY do I want to pay ~$50K or $80K and add a charger in the garage for one car?
5-12 hour recharges? only a crazy person would entertain such lunacy?

AGAIN, WHAT'S in it for ME? I like what Leon did for DOGE and the Country and maybe a Tesla to help out?

Nope. Price depends upon supply and demand. It's a fundamental economic principle. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

That has nothing to do with price. What you are describing is the economic feasibility of a commercial venture which may or may not affect price. Do you need for me to walk you though that too?
