And guess what. It isn't done by giving the wealthy huge tax breaks. I was reading on FB that in the past 10 years the wealth of the top 1% went up by around 34 trillion. Who knows how much they had before then. But 34 trillion is enough to end poverty annually around the world 22 times over! What do you think of that! And here in the U.S. they want to cut food stamps and Medicaid. (Among many other things) How utterly pathetic. How incredibly EVIL!

Charity begins at home, moron. What have YOU done? Give YOUR OWN money away. You don't have any right to take other's money to give to YOUR charities. Some of those in your photo have given more to the poor in JUST ONE donation than you'll earn in a hundred lifetimes.

But 34 trillion is enough to end poverty annually around the world 22 times over! What do you think of that!
You could take all of Bezos' money and spread it around these "poor" cities and in 6 months' time they would all buy new cars, scratch tickets, dope, and he'd have it back while they were sleeping it off.

Ending poverty would accelerate the ending of humans. The planet cannot support that much consumption.

Hey kid, here's something to ponder. Perhaps the poorest countries in the world should stop having the MOST BABIES in the world.

You're the moron. You think any of those people actually earned their money? At minimum wage, they would have to work around 70,000 times harder just to become a billionaire. Let alone becoming a multi billionaire. Do you think they work that hard? Also, a lot of that wealth comes from not paying the poor well and damaging the environment in some way. As well as, of course, paying off politicians. And don't even tell me about what pocket change to them they gave to the poor.

I wasn't speaking of just Bezos. Or of taking ALL their money. And you seem to have a pretty poor opinion of the poor. Though I agree with one thing. The way things are rigged, it wouldn't take long for the wealthy to get their money back.

That is true to some degree. For instance, if all the people in India were to start living the kind of life that we do here in the U.S., the world couldn't handle the added pollution it would cause. But there is much that could still be done to make them far less poor than they are. It may not be up to U.S. standards, but it would be a hell of a lot better standards than they are living in right now. As for myself, I would love to be able to afford some junker car to go to the store with. Because taking a bus sucks, bad!

I'm WAY ahead of you. But talking about it would likely only get me banned.

Okay, so what should be done?

Name five steps that ordinary Americans can take to reduce world poverty.

Yeah, GOVERNMENT shut down the small businesses, but allowed the big businesses to remain open.

Want to make the rich richer? Have government help them.

DURRRRRR

Why does the fact that you're poor make the rich comfortable?

Taxing Elmo at 50% on everything over $100,000,000 a year would solve the US budget deficit.

I don't know who "Elmo" is, but if he makes a hundred billion per year, the USG is not going to be able to outsmart him and his lawyers.
