Anybody who has that kind of set up (enter your phone number, Social, drivers licence, credit card #) gets closed instantly when I get to that site.

Haven't heard about YIM doing it, but my Yahoo account shoots out emails that are spam. I've removed EVERYONE from my contacts list, just to stop it since there doesn't appear to be a way to contact Yahoo about it.

It's actually been happening for years, the makers of the malware keep changing it up every time the IM services block it. It's ALL IM services getting this, YIM, AIM, MSNIM, etc.

Actually, she probably doesn't know she has it, or what it's doing. Hence my attempts to inform her.

I use it for the same reason. Funny tho, I used to have the YIM and got rid of it because everytime someone sent me a message, it sounded like a door squeaking open and it freaked me out at night.

Exactly, me too. I use my IP account for all my friends and important stuff.

I don't use any of the IM services directly, I use Trillian instead.
